BlaBlaBus: BlaBlaCar buses

  • BlaBlaBus corresponds to the bus offers offered by Blablacar.
  • Launched in 2004 in France, Blablacar is now the leader in carpooling. The platform has 70 million members. Blablacar is present in more than twenty countries: France, United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, India, Mexico, Brazil etc.
  • In April 2018, following an unprecedented SNCF strike movement, Blablacar offered Blablacar buses on its platform for the first time. The company develops partnerships with local operators.
Blablacar joined forces at the same time with bus company OUIBUS, a subsidiary of SNCF. The two platforms decide to share some of their carpool and bus offers.
  • In November 2018, Blablacar bought the OUIBUS company. This acquisition will enable the development of a complete mobility solution, according to Nicolas Brusson, co-founder and CEO of BlaBlaCar: "We are very pleased to be considering joining forces with the Ouibus teams. This merger would enable all travellers to find a long-distance mobility solution on BlaBlaCar that suits their diverse needs. It also fuels our ambition to extend a complete mobility service including car and coach on a European scale. In addition, the partnership envisaged with SNCF marks a very promising turning point in the construction of a truly intermodal and door-to-door mobility. We share a desire to reduce autosolism in favour of shared and responsible transport".

  • From mid-2019, following the acquisition of OUIBUS, Blablacar launches Blablacar buses in France. BlaBlaCar could also launch BlaBlaTrain as soon as the French rail market is liberalized.
